Outdoor Education - Marine Biology

Each February, our 7th grade class travels to the Florida Keys for a marine biology trip.

Our students explore the sub-tropical ocean environment of the Florida Keys with an emphasis on the undersea life in and around the coral reefs. Snorkeling provides students with an up close and personal interaction with one of God’s most beautiful ecosystems. Students learn about the history of the Florida Keys and how people have changed and developed the local environment.

Students also engage in outreach projects with local churches, conducting Sabbath worship service, literature evangelism and a community service project. The culmination of our trip includes an airboat ride in the Florida Everglades National Park, where students observe alligators, wild birds and learn about this unique natural habitat.
